Candy

I just wanted to tell you all that Asher has discovered candy and how delicious it is. I think it's so funny. Max went on an easter egg hunt a couple days ago, and ever since then there has been little pieces of candy everywhere. Asher will find it, and then hoard it. He just holds on to it and walks around. He will not put it down. EVER.

He's had candy before, but I don't think he really liked it until... well, now.

Love the double chin, Ash.

As we speak Asher is in the corner giggling as he eats some candy I just gave to him. No joke.

What we've been up to...

We've been much too busy playing in this beautiful weather to take any pictures. It was around 70 degrees almost all of last week! Hooray!

When the weather is not so nice, we've spent some time taking silly pictures.

Attractive, I know :)

My sweet boys :)
I love those little guys! Happy Monday to you :)

gluten free, soy free, and dairy free...

i finally did it. i made a decent bread that ash could eat. and it actually turned out pretty nicely. i tasted it and it didn't taste that different from regular bread. i think it really helped that it was banana bread, because i felt like the sweet in the bread helped make it taste better. best of all is that asher liked it. so did maxwell and caden, and i had to keep telling them they couldn't have anymore because it was asher's special bread.

see? it looks like real bread!
happy lead day to you all!

Midweek Confessions

I'm linking up with e, myself, and i, again this week. Go check out her blog, yo!

- I'm eating cereal. in bed. at almost 11 pm. as I write this.

- I was so happy at work today when I found out the housekeeper was there... because that meant I didn't have to do nearly as much cleaning, and I could sit around more. I know... so sad. But in my defense I did fold 4-5 loads of laundry and put them away, I bathed the boys, cleaned out the fridge, and made gluten free, soy free, and dairy free banana bread for Asher.

- I just spent an hour and 15 minutes on a homework assignment that should have only taken 30 minutes because I decided to watch tv while I did it.

- I secretly really want the family I nanny for to have another baby... even though both parents are super busy.

- In one of my hardest classes we are usually given time in class to work on homework, but I usually tend to slack and just waste my time. I'm beginning to regret that.

- The night before my Photography class I will create a mental list of things that I can do in class with no internet. I then pack everything I need to do those things, and I work on them while in class. That class is 3 hours long and I just get so bored. Last Friday I finished editing all of the pictures that I took while in Ecuador (at least the pictures that I took for other people... mostly my family)

I'll admit... I had to bribe these boys to be in a picture...

Day 342

Today we decided to make some of these DELICIOUS muffins. Because we usually don't have everything that we need, we had to run to the store.

Yes, both boys are STILL in their Pjs. Hey, it happens.

I think I'm going to have to start taking the boys to the store on a daily basis. I put them in this cart and start pushing them and then Asher starts squealing and laughing. It's the little things that make your day :)

Both boys were VERY willing to help out with the baking.

Day 341

(f/4.5; 1/80s; ISO 3200; 32 mm)
This little guy has been so clingy lately. You will usually find him either clinging to my leg, or sitting happily on my hip. He has been through a lot lately though. We used to think he was allergic to EVERYTHING. Seriously. We kept gluten, diary, soy, nuts, eggs... etc away from him. Apparently he's not allergic to anything. He has something known as food protein induced endercolitis syndrome. Or FPIES - kind of like apple pies :) I guess when he eats a certain protein, known as a trigger protein, his body attacks it. Which would then explain why he is constantly sick with vomiting and diarrhea. It's possible that he can start getting over it around the age of three. If that's the case, then every time a new food is introduced he has to be at the hospital. So, just be praying as both his family and I adjust to feeding him carefully. As it is he can eat less now than when we thought he was just allergic to everything.

Day 335

Meet Maxwell. When people say that a picture is worth a thousand words... well, they are right.
Maxwell is the epitome of the picture below.

(f/4.0; 1/50s; ISO 1600; 27 mm)
You can count on seeing Max with very chapped lips, pants that are never buttoned, always saying he is hungry, and constantly not knowing what to do with himself.

That or you'll just think he's always in his PJs.

Day 334

We made some delicious cookies today.

(f/4.5; 1/80s; ISO 1600; 30 mm)

(f/4.0; 1/80s; ISO 1600; 24 mm)
Once I put the cookies in the oven, Max grabbed a chair, grabbed the spatula he was licking, sat down and asked me to turn the oven light on. He seriously sat there watching the cookies bake. What a funny kid.

Day 332

We went to the park today. We didn't last too long, since it wasn't super warm, and Asher only wanted to either play in the street or go play with the kids who were on recess at the playground next to ours. So, don't let his cute innocent smile fool you, he was actually probably thinking of some plan to get away from me and do something dangerous. No joke.

Day 320

We went to focus on the family today and got some energy out. It was too cold to really spend much time outside, and so I decided to go to focus. It was the perfect way to keep the boys entertained. They loved it! And it's free :)

(f/5.0; 1/100s; ISO 3200; 42 mm)
(f/3.5; 1/125s; ISO 1600; 20mm)

Day 319

Cutie patootie with food on his face :) He's not sick this week, which means he is MUCH happier. This makes me much happier too. I love him :)
