My Boys

Here are a few pictures of the boys I nanny. I like them. A lot. :)

Asher is the baby. He is almost 2 months.

Maxwell (also in the first picture with me) is 3 years old and very imaginative. He does not like to sit still.

And Caden, ---->
is five years old. I have to pick him up from school every day, and some days I have to take him. He really is such an adorable five year old. He is also totally and completely in love with Asher, and he will try to hold/slash touch Asher whenever possible. He was also the one who wanted to take all the pictures... he probably took some of these.

I Can't Go A Minute Without Your Love

Okay, okay, OKAY! I know... a few weeks ago I said I would post something soon, and I know you must be holding your breath to read something new about my life, but I have been busy. really.

So I will settle down now in my room alone, with some music playing, and the whole night ahead of me to write. I will tell you about every aspect of my life... or I will try. ;)

SCHOOL:
As most of you know, I started school about 3 weeks ago. It has gone splendidly well. I mean, it's school. I can't say it's my greatest joy, but hey I didn't dislocated my jaw yet this year. So I really can't complain.

WORK:
is going so well :) It can be super tiring, but I love it! I love watching the imagination of Maxwell, the three year old, working hard. He makes me laugh with all the crazy things he comes up with. I wish I had that imagination. I love how dramatic Caden, the five year old, can be. He will come home from school and say, "miss Christina, I had a hard day at school today." I, of course, try to respond in a loving and understanding way even when I want to laugh, because hard for a five year old means not having the cool sticker that another kid has. I love cuddling with Asher, the one month old. He just started smiling, and when he smiles, I smile. He's a fussy baby (especially when he is not being held) but that just means I get to cuddle with him some more :)

I can't say that I am the perfect nanny, but I am pretty close to being one ;) They told their mom that they wanted me to live with them. So that's a good sign, right?

Some of the things we do together are:
  • riding bikes
  • going to the park
  • doing puzzles
  • playing candy land
  • building with blocks
  • be some "reader" superheros with our wonderful imaginations
  • eat food
We have lots of fun, and they always manage to tire me out! I've been sleeping so well. ha.

Every time that I go over to their house to play some more, I realize how God just seemed to have this job for me. I am reminded every day how GREAT God really is.

Friends:
I have some great friends. So thank you to all who help me out with that :)

I love my roommate. She really has been a blessing to me. She listens to me, laughs at me, and most the time we just have a good time. We eat together, clean together, and do homework together. (It's kind of ironic, because right now I am listening to a song called together... weird) But she has been a really great roommate.

Random stuffs:
It's been crazy living on my own. I like it. for the most part. I am always thankful to be busy, because then I don't have to think about how I miss my family. The nice thing is that both myself, and my family in Ecuador seem to be doing a pretty good at adjusting to this new life. I am so happy for them.

Also, recently I've run into an artist whom I really like. She sings mostly covers, but I feel as though she is quite talented (but that's my opinion) her name is Julia Sheer, and you should definitely check her out. :) She's on youtube. Like all the cool people.

Furthermore, at the end of this month, I am having my first visitors! My sister, her husband, and my adorable nephew are comin' to Colorado Springs, folks! I'll be putting Judah in the closet. Aren't I a great Aunt? But this shall be fun, and I will definitely have to post about it so that ya'll know how it goes. I'll definitely have a lot of pictures to show you.

Well I don't think I have that much more to say. Thanks very much for being patient. Also, thanks for actually reading this... those of you who actually do read this.

Trey Jackson:
I am sad to say that I will be ending this post on a little bit of a sadder note, but he deserves it. Today I found out that my friend, Trey, died from leukemia. He actually had just gotten out of the hospital from doing chemo and all that jazz just a couple of weeks ago, and on September 15th early in the evening (yesterday), he passed away in his sleep. I don't know much else, but I do know that I, along with a lot of other people, will be missing him a lot. He was a really good, friendly, loving guy. I know he is in a better place, so I can only be happy for him.

If you could please be praying for his family and friends. Thank you :)

New post...

coming soon.

I was hoping to write a detailed post about my life, my new job, and what not today, but I did not have the chance. Hopefully someday soon I will have a chance... I know you are all just dying to read more about myself... (haha ;)

A week ago, my family left. It was tough saying goodbye, and still it's tough to think about those goodbyes. I know I will see them in 4 more months. I know I can talk to them whenever (as soon as they get internet, which I hope is soon!), but it still gets mighty lonely.

It's been a crazy week. Last tuesday (the day my family left) was a very long but good day. I had to wake up at 3:55 that morning to drive my family to the Denver airport. I then rushed home to get a short nap in before going to Elitches. At first I was regretting deciding to go to Elitches, but it actually turned out to be better than staying at home. So I had a fun, friend filled, sunny day at Elitches. It kept my mind off of my family (for the most part), and I really enjoyed it.

Since then, I am not exactly sure what I have been doing. I have done a lot of just preparing to go back to school. Part of the problem is that I am switching schools, and I still have to withdraw from my old school! It's been exhausting to say the least. It's not everyday that a Senior in high school has to withdraw herself from high school... I'm going in tomorrow to try to withdraw myself... and I am starting to wonder if they will let me do that.

Today was an exciting day! I had a trial run at watching the kids that I will be nannying in two weeks! I am so excited now! All three boys seem like such easy kids. It feels like it will be the perfect job for me. No joke.

On the left are several pictures of "my apartment". Enjoy!

Life

So, right now I am sitting at the Apple store at the briargate shops, waiting for a very long time hoping that the longer I wait, the more likely they will be able to "fix" my computer. I say "fix" in quotation marks because my computer is not broken, it's actually brand new (as of today). But, I would thoroughly enjoy having all of my pictures, music, documents, etc.. that were on my old computer, be transferred to my new one... and for some reason I couldn't manage to do that on my own. So I wait here.

In further and more interesting news, my family leaves me on Tuesday! I can't really tell you what emotions I feel about it, because I do not know myself. I'm not even sure if I have many emotions concerning their move. Yes, I will be sad that they are leaving, and I'll admit that with them leaving, I think about it every night, and usually shed a tear or two, but another part of me is excited. This is a new adventure. Something I have never done before. I also realize that this is a step towards me growing up. That is just simply crazy. I never thought I would be this "old". You know, in this stage of living on my own. I'm a college student and I am living on my own. Those words are ones that I repeat about every hour, and each time I think it, I think it is just plain crazy.

I remember when I was younger and my siblings would tell me that I would never live on my own, never go to college, and never get married. Well, I now have done two of those things... or I am about to. So in your face siblings ;)

There are really only a couple things that I am worried about, not having a washer and dryer are probably the biggest things (apart from missing my family). I know my brother said it was fine for me to do laundry at his house (that would mean I would get to see him as well, which would be good), but he also lives a good bit away. So, I'll probably switch off between going to my brother's house, and doing laundry at a laundromat.

Yesterday I received an email from the lady whom I will be nannying for, and she had her baby, Asher, about a week ago :) Also, I will be starting work the beginning of September, and I am SO excited. I feel as though I will really, thoroughly, enjoy this job. I love kids, and these kids are especially cute.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure people are starting to look at me weirdly, so I must bid my farewells for now. But I do ask that you pray for me while I start this new journey of mine, and maybe you will be a huge part of it.

I'm Free Indeed

So, my entire summer I felt as though I was working a 30 hour a week job... but not getting paid. Okay, in a way I did get paid... but not in the money sense of being paid. You have all read at least one post about me complain about having to do math, and trying to avoid it in. Also, some of you have heard me talk about it in a normal conversation. And there are also a few of you (mostly my immediate family) who have seen me cry, complain, and struggle through this math class. Although some of the time I probably overreacted, it was definitely one of my harder classes. Math is not for me, nor will it ever be. Also, this was a very quick semester, so EVERYTHING is crammed in. I was probably doing close to 30 hours of math a week. By the end of the semester I was even dreaming of math (GROSS), and Math was coming up in EVERY conversation that I ever had (ok, it was left out once in awhile).

BUT

I'm DONE!

I finally have my life back, and it feels SO good. :) I now have four more credits going towards my degree, and I have 2 1/2 weeks left of my summer. I cannot even describe how good it feels to be done. It will just be so nice to wake up in the mornings and not have to rush to do math. I also don't have to miss out on anything anymore because I am no longer in class, and I have no more homework!

I also found out tonight after taking the final (a very easy one at that) that I have a very nice grade in the class :)

I know I should expect to have a good grade, because I am naturally brilliant (ha ha), but there were a couple times where I didn't think I could do it. But I did it and I am done. And I just had to tell you all how wonderful it feels to be done!

In other news, I do start 3 more classes on the 23rd, but for now I will be happy to be done and I will enjoy it!

Thanks for letting me tell you all how glad I am to be done! I'll post a hopefully more interesting post in the near future.

The Big City

First, I would like to start by saying that the reason why I am writing a post now is because I am trying my hardest to avoid math. I should really be working on math homework, and studying for my test on Thursday, but it really doesn't sound all that fun. So, I will sit here and write about my fairy tale life so that my wonderful fans can read about me.

July has been a very busy month, but a really enjoyable one at that. In my previous post, I wrote about being able to spend time with some of my closest friends, the Brdickas. That was only the beginning of July. So much has happened since.

My family has almost finished getting ready to leave for Ecuador (Almost is relative though, because there is still much to do).

The basement is now ready to be lived in (I've actually been living in it for almost 3 weeks now). We painted the whole basement, set up the kitchen, and just turned it into a more apartment like place.

The upstairs is also close to being ready for the renters (who come in August 5th!). As I write there is someone above me painting the whole main floor. Also at the end of this week we are getting new blinds! Furthermore, we just got some wood floors put in upstairs. They will be wonderful! no longer do we have to avoid eating in the dining room because we don't have to worry about the carpet being stained.

Here is a picture of the wood floors in our
living room and dining room.
Also, the white walls are being painted
a somewhat gold color, and the dining room (or the green/blueish wall)
is going to be painted another color, although I am not sure what color.

All that we are doing to our house is so exciting, because we haven't done much to the house since we moved in. So it's going to be like a brand new house to us!
Although I have been busy with fixing up the house, and helping my parents pack, I've also been busy in other ways. July 14th I flew out to Chicago to visit my sister, and to go to a family reunion. Going to Chicago was probably the most exciting thing I have done all summer. I arrived Wednesday afternoon to a lot of heat and a lot of traffic! I will admit that after being in Chicago, I am very very thankful for Colorado's weather! It was hard to do anything but sit in front of a fan all day to try to stay cool in Chicago.

Being in Chicago was very relaxing for the most part. Thursday, the day after I got there, my sister (Rachel), her husband (Jason), my nephew (Judah), my older brother (Steven), and my younger sister (Julianna) and I went jet skiing on lake michigan. Okay, my nephew didn't go jet skiing, but he did sleep in the shade while the rest of us went jet skiing. On Friday, Rachel, Judah, Steven, Julianna and I drove (five hours) to Spring Hill Camp in Michigan for my grandparent's 50th anniversary. (My parents and 4 of my younger siblings had left the day before to visit some friends). At the camp, we spent a lot of time eating, swimming, zip lining, and doing other activities. I also spent a lot of time on Math. Probably about 14 hours.
My adorable little nephew, Judah. (2 1/2 months)
This face always makes me laugh :)
Judah with a couple of his loving uncles. This was soon after I arrived in
Chicago and I had just recently met Judah.
My entire family on my mom's side. I believe this is the first picture that we have
ever taken of all of us.

Sunday afternoon, we got back to my sister's apartment and from then until Tuesday we pretty much just lounged around and relaxed (I did some more math). I flew back to Colorado on Tuesday with Julianna. (Steven flew out the day before). It was a really good trip. It was great to see my aunts, uncles, cousins, and celebrate my grandparents anniversary. My cousins on my mom's side are all at least 5 years younger than I am, and we have never been too close with them due to being in Ecuador for most of my life, but we all get along for the most part.

Well I better run, because I have a 3 hour math class that I need to be at this evening, and I still have more homework to do!
